I have just been watching my wife using her latest toy, a lightweight
electrical steam mop, to rid the hall carpet of all traces of our
eighteen-year-old dog, Popsy's accident. The old girl is a little slow making it
outside sometimes, that's the dog not my wife, but as anyone who has dogs will
know, a dog is family and you don't put them down just because they're old.
Apparently the steam mop sterilizes, and as well as cleaning and removing
odours it is also chemical free. I wonder if the NHS should by a few? I believe they
cost less than forty-pounds, and if bought in bulk, probably less than twenty.
Steaming walls and beds and furniture would see off all those nasty killer bugs
in quick-time.
Why not have a steam boiler in every home? Steam powered television would
entertain whilst warming the room at the same time, and steam light bulbs,
though dimmed by mist, would have the same effect. And it would snuff out those
nasty toxic compact fluorescent light bulbs that the idiots of Europe want to
make compulsory, despite the fact they can contaminate, your home, you, your
children and the cat!
All that household waste could be burned in the family boiler and you could
even melt down your aluminium beer cans and sell them for scrap, and at £800 a
ton getting legless could become an income generator.
No gas or electricity bills, yes you can cook by steam too, and a glowing
red-hot boiler is ideal for cooking steaks or making toast. Coffee machines and
kettles would become things of the past, and what's more a compact steam engine
could power your car too, so bye-bye fuel bills.
